A Private Tutoring WordPress Client

Last Spring I wrote an article for the Expand2Web blog about my Strategies for Working from a Home Office when the phone rang. O Happy Day, someone (Lynn Davison) had read my article and a light went off, she was also working from a home office and struggling with building her WordPress website and thought that maybe I could give her some guidance. I had done private tutoring for clients in the past and I explained to Lynn how this works:
- We jump on Skype and you get a lesson – the topic could be something you initiate or something that I think you need to know.
- We leave Skype with a Your To Do and My To Do. My homework was usually stuff related to Lynn’s Genesis Lifestyle Theme or creating WordPress tutorials specific to the project and Lynn’s homework was usually adding pages, images, text, etc.
- Lynn would be empowered to have total control over her website and our freelance agreement meant she controlled how much work she outsourced.
The site took a while to complete for a few reasons (file under Life Happens) and Lynn’s plans were very ambitious. However, on Friday we jumped on Skype to verify her site with the search engines and submit the sitemap!
The site We Had a Great Vacation has:
- 122 Pages
- 8 Posts
- 250 Images
- An Infusionsoft e-mail capture program
- Picassa Feeds
- 50 Next Gen Galleries
- Is connect to all of her social media profiles
- Multiple videos and slideshows
Along the way I create over 30 video tutorials and detailed diagram’s showing Lynn How or What or Where, all of which she has organized in Evernote.
Lynn is a Shareholdesrand Platinum Members of Lifestyle Holidays Vacations Club and the website is devoted to the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. There are detailed pages devoted to Private Villas in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Plata Beaches information and guidance on the Domincan Republic even suggestions on What to Pack

Thanks to Eileen’s coaching and guidance, we have launched WeHadaGreatVacation.com and I have had my best month ever helping families make marvelous memories!
I couldn’t have done it without her! WordPress has many not-always-obvious-but-specific ways of doing things that Eileen already knew about or found out how to make work. There were times (many!) that I was so frustrated that I almost abandoned WordPress. But Eileen’s calm, confident manner steered me through those bad times. The result is a website I can grow and improve to create an attractive on-line presence that helps my growing business prosper.
I also know that Eileen will continue to be there to help guide me when I need help and cheer me on when I am on a roll. If she sounds expensive, know that I have found she is worth every penny. Working with her has been productive and delightful!
