Cynthia Layout | SmallBiz Theme
Written by: Eileen Lonergan
One of my favorite layouts for the SmallBiz theme for WordPress is Cynthia. If I had a little more cache with the developers I would wish it were called the Eileen Layout! For the client Fourth Dimension Recovery we were going for a calm, clean look that was simple to navigate. To help with the symmetry of overall look I wanted the navigation menu to be spaced out a bit, not exactly aligned left.
To center the items in the navigation menu:
- Login to your website
- In the Dashboard look for Appearance
- Editor
- Place this code in the Style.CSS
- #access li {padding-left: 70px;}
- Note: adjust the 70 to best accommodate your navigation menu, it may need to be greater or less than what I used for 4D Recovery.

Nice site, I just bought the theme and I’m having a go at doing my own site…check it out! It is a work in progress and I’m trying to master it so as to do local business websites.

I like the background of your site and it looks like you are off to a great start! I have a bunch of how to’s related to customizing the SmallBiz theme here on my site, but always feel free to drop me a note if you need help. Let me know when you are done so I can see the finished project!
