Google 7 Pack

by eileen on November 7, 2009

This past Monday Google replaced the familiar local map that appears at the top of organic search results with 7 listings instead of 10.  The prestigious 10 pack that so many had worked diligently to break into is now even more exclusive, quickly coined the Lucky 7.

My friend Don Campbell of Expand2Web wrote an excellent article, Natural Rankings in Search Just Got More Important, which explains the changes in the listings and why your natural organic rank can never be ignored.

Google does not charge businesses to “claim their business”, which allows you to add pictures, list hours of operation, add maps and directions, and that categories that your business covers.  If you haven’t done this yet, give me a call and I will set this up for you.
