How To Put An Image in Your WordPress Sidebar (that is also a link)eamon blogger at My Grape Escape

This video was created for Eamon (on the left) and I thought I would share it with the rest of you.

Eamon (author of My Grape Escape)  wants to add an image  to his WordPress side bar widgets that will link to another site.

I do this frequently for links to Facebook, Twitter or other sites.

  • First, create a new POST.
  • Second, upload an image
  • Third, in the space that asks for the link this image to, type in the url of the  new site (ie www.mygrapeescape.ie)
  • Fourth, move from the visual editor to the to the html view
  • Fifth, copy the code and SAVE AS A DRAFT (if you publish it will show up on your blog, if you don’t save, if you have made a mistake you will have to begin again).
  • Sixth, go to the widgets (under the appearance tab on your dashboard) and drag a text box over to the sidebar area.
  • Seventh, paste the code
  • Eight, hit Save
  • If you like to see the process, please watch this video.
  • Ta Daaa! Well done, any questions I am here to help.
