How to Burn A Feed with Feedburner and Connect it to Dlvr.it

Eileen Lonergan 29th March 2011

This simple video will show you how to “burn” a RSS feed with Feedburner. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) takes your blog and formats it into a standardized format that can be used for syndication purposes. By burning a feed (or putting into into the RSS format) you are able to use services such as dlvr.it or ping.fm to take your feed (blog post) and automatically send it to social media websites such as Twitter or Facebook.
I use a service called dlvr.it to take the RSS feed and push my content out to my social networks. So once I post to my blog, dlvr.it takes care of updating Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

Once you have the feed set up, you may want to customize the default image that is displayed next to your feed, this previous post will help you .

Thank you so much for this video Eileen! That’s actually what I needed. Of course I came across two issues, When I went to establish which fan page I wanted the feed to go to it would only allow me to select my personal account, my fan page could not be selected. Could this be because I do not have 25 fans which would then allow me to have its own username and password. Also when the blog is posted to facebook the picture that shows up is not the one in the blog post but the hyperlink pic that I placed in the sidebar that connects the blog to my FB… any suggestions. Again you have been such a great help!

I think I figured out the image issue. I went into the post content page and under thumbnail style I selected auto-detected from item content. We’ll wait and see if that works….

I assume that you are the administrator on the Fan Page? I don’t think it is the 25 fans, because I don’t have that many either. If you are an administrator you don’t need a special username and password. Can yous send me the fan page url?
