My friends at Expand2Web have taken their Small Business WordPress Theme to the next level – MOBILE! This is super exciting because according to Google, traffic from mobile devices and smart phones like iPhone, iPad and Android is exploding,
“50% of the searches from these devices are for local goods and services”
What this means for the searcher – when a potential customer has come to your site via a mobile device, a touch-enabled layout is automatically delivered. Two very obvious choices, Call Us & Directions appear on the homescreen. These new features come packaged nicely inside of the newly released Expand2Web version 3.5. The theme includes:
Mobile Landing Pages – Serve special touch-enabled layout automatically when mobile a device is detected. Including iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) and Android devices.
Fully customization navigation menus – New CSS Based alternative navigation menu with color chooser
New color schemes – 3 New graphical color schemes
New Layout- New “Classic Video” page layout due to popular demand!
This video has Don Campbell, President of Expand2Web giving you a tour of the SmallBiz Theme. The guys were nice enough to send me a copy of the theme before it was released. Of the new color schemes, there is one that I really love (a bit more girlie than their previous offerings), and the ability to change the background color/image is amazing. I have been using the theme since version 1.5, and trust me, this is light years ahead of where they were just two short years ago! The mobile theme option is very easy to use. Within their dashboard you either enter the data you wish to display or you leave it blank (for example, I meet clients by appointment only, I don’t want to offer driving directions, so I don’t enable the mobile feature). In the interest of full disclosure – I do NOT have any financial gain in you buying this theme. I am passing along the knowledge, as the guys at Expand2Web are terrific (see previous post) and I also believe that there is plenty of room for all of us to succeed. I have created over a dozen websites using their theme, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions. If you need help getting your website mobile ready, please give me a call! This is my blog and I hope you enjoy it. I try to share tips and tricks that I have learned about WordPress and digital marketing, which hopefully will make your life a bit easier. I have been working on search engine marketing for clients since 2003.
Gosh, I hope that I am using the correct words to explain what I am trying to show you. By default the Divi Theme uses huge images to go along with your blog posts. For one particular client I wanted to style the blog to have more of a traditional look – smaller images to […]
After the recession hit in 2008 and marketing budgets around the world collapsed, there were a few people who predicted the worst. Marketing budgets were totally decimated, slashed beyond recognition, and thousands of marketers were suddenly back on the job or client search. Some people predicted that they would never recover. For a while this […]
I love to launch. If getting your site done and out there for the world to see isn’t a priority, I am not the girl you should work with. Saying that, there are a lot of small details that you need to be mindful of, or you will be launching an unfinished product to the […]
Does Kelly Rippa Need to Be In Every Commercial I Watch? Maybe. On paper I land right into the target market of: women 25-54, mother, employed, college degree. I guess Kelly Rippa is the person that the ad agencies have determined is the best spokesperson for that target market and will be the person who […]
I have hit my tenth anniversary of working in search engine optimization. That makes me either a relic or a sage, let’s go with sage. What has always been the same in SEO: Good content wins always. Sites with regularly updated content rank higher for more keywords than those that sit untouched. Navigation is the […]
